DEADLINE: Frontline's Environmental Reportage

Event Date:
January 27, 2016

Frontline is a program series that trains and supports writers who are exploring, testing, witnessing and reporting back on some of the most current and pressing issues of our time. This year’s focus is environmental reportage. The program addresses universal environmental concerns at a time when they could not be more relevant — from natural resources, to climate change, to life after oil.

This residency offers writers — staff, freelance writers or embedded journalists — two weeks to focus on an environment-related writing project, editorial guidance, and seminars and discussion sessions with guest faculty who have achieved excellence in environmental reportage. Deadline to apply for the Apr 11-23, 2016, program is January 27.

Applicants should be emerging and established writers, working on a long-form magazine narrative (ranging anywhere from 4,000 to 10,000 words) or a book-length project.
