SciLine Experts on Camera: Landslide Risks With Dr. Daniel Sturmer

Event Date:
July 25, 2024

Landslides are geological hazards that occur in all 50 states, cause billions of dollars in damage and kill 25-50 people in the U.S. each year. A warming climate makes it more difficult to forecast the likelihood of landslides.

On Thursday, July 25th, Dr. Daniel Sturmer (U. Of Cincinnati) will be available from 1-3 p.m. EDT for 15-minute 1-on-1 Zoom interviews. He can discuss:

  • What causes landslides;
  • Landslide risks in different parts of the U.S.;
  • How climate change impacts landslide risks; and
  • Ways individuals and local governments can manage landslides and the risk of harm (including deaths, injuries, and loss of property) if they do occur.

Request an interview.
