GSDF connects filmmakers around the world with international media outlets looking for short docs. Selected from a global call, 16 filmmakers take part in an intensive 4-week training program of online workshops, mentoring, and one-to-one pitch meetings with decision makers. GSDF Labs is a mix of online and in-person events on short documentary storytelling, pitching, and solutions journalism. It's designed to support filmmakers and video journalists who are developing short docs, and might consider applying for the Global Short Docs Forum (Dec 13 deadline). All events are free.

As corporations make major commitments to reducing climate emissions, journalists will need to investigate whether these efforts are contributing to a sustainable future, or simply greenwashing the same old dirty business. Ahead of the COP27 in Egypt, join SEJ and expert panelists for advice on how to cover the role of the business sector in solving the climate challenge. 1-2pm ET.
