"Climate: Analyst Resigns Following Blocked Testimony"

"A State Department analyst whose congressional testimony on climate change was allegedly watered down by the White House has reportedly resigned.

Rod Schoonover, an intelligence analyst in State's Bureau of Intelligence and Research, is leaving willingly at the end of this week after a number of clashes with Trump administration officials, The Washington Post reported today, citing officials who wished to remain anonymous.

State and the White House did not respond to requests for comment on the report.

Schoonover had prepared testimony for a House Intelligence Committee hearing on climate change last month that painted a dire picture of the current and future world due to climate change, forecasting "possibly catastrophic" impacts, based on peer-reviewed and federal research, according to the Post and The New York Times. But reports indicate the White House blocked Schoonover from submitting the written testimony."
