"Democrats Call On DOE IG To Probe Climate Funding Cuts"

"The administration is questioning the validity of documents circulating around Washington."

"House Democratic leaders across several panels are asking the Department of Energy’s internal watchdog to probe potential cuts of climate-related programs.

In a letter to DOE acting Inspector General Sarah Nelson, the Democrats say the administration is moving to cut or roll back spending in the absence of a clear rationale.

“Troubling reports have also surfaced suggesting that the review and subsequent cancellations may be politically motivated, targeting projects in Democratic states and districts,” said the letter, led by Appropriations ranking member Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.)."
