The 13th biennial COCE, now part of the International Environmental Communication Association (IECA), will explore the theme of bridging divides in environmental communication which is only fitting given Boulder's location by the continental divide of North America.

UC Berkeley, in partnership with the National Park Service (NPS) and National Geographic Society, presents this summit convening natural and social scientists, managers and practitioners to launch a Second Century of stewardship for the parks, 100 years after the historic meetings at UC Berkeley that helped launch the NPS.

The 2015 ASEH annual conference, taking place in Washington, DC near Georgetown, will feature 11 field trips and more than 100 sessions discussing climate change, environmental justice, endangered species, public lands, energy policy, forestry management, natural disasters, and other topics. A large exhibit area will feature the latest research and scholarship in environmental history.

The Environmental Law Institute's 2014 Policy Forum, taking place in Washington, DC, will focus on state leadership in environmental protection, examining the inherent tension underlying state-federal partnerships and inconsistencies in state approaches to cooperative federalism. Register by Oct 14th.

The Environmental Law Institute's annual U.S. Supreme Court update for the 2014 term will feature ELI President John Cruden leading a discussion (in Washington, DC and via teleconference) with two of the most distinguished environmental law school professors in the nation to review the important Clean Air Act cases decided this year, and forecast their implications for future rule making, particularly in the greenhouse gas arena. Register by Sep 26.

The International Union of Forest Research Organizations is holding its every-5th-year World Congress in Salt Lake City, UT this year. Media professionals are encouraged to attend. All attendees with a media/press pass will have access to the conference plenary, sub-plenary and technical sessions, the media room and press events, and entry to the expo floor.

The conference, taking place in Montreal, provides an opportunity to address issues ranging from environmental impact on human and animal health and transmission of infectious diseases, to conservation and ecosystem management, to rural and urban development and planning. Scholarships to cover the event are available; June 3rd deadline.
