These Awards recognize excellence in nonfiction that exemplifies the literary grace and commitment to serious research and social concern that characterized the work of the awards' Pulitzer Prize-winning namesake, J. Anthony Lukas. Four awards are given, all with cash prizes. Deadline: Dec 7, 2023.

Harlo Holmes, Chief Information Security Officer and Director of Digital Security at Freedom of the Press Foundation, will be providing guidance to journalists on what they can do to keep themselves safe and improve their knowledge and skills on digital security. 10 a.m. ET.

The Knight Foundation and Lenfest Institute for Journalism have provided grant funding to cover the costs for a select number of journalists to attend the summit in Keene, NH (including transportation, lodging and meals). 

Learn how climate, vegetation and other factors play a role in wildfire activity; how forest managers can assess vulnerability, and increase resilience, to wildfires; and what scientists know about the health effects of proximity to wildfires. Scientific experts will brief reporters and take questions on the record. 3:00 p.m. ET.
